Last weekend, Team Ninja made the trek up north to Coalgate, OK for the Mowdy Ranch Mustang Run. The race winds through thousands of acres of beautiful southeastern Oklahoma hills. The proceeds from the race are donated to the Bureau of Land Management for the care and maintenance of the American Mustangs that live and run free at the Mowdy Ranch.

Our team had 6 half marathon finishers. While still recovering from a mean case of PF, Cathy finished strong and 3rd AG. Helene and Ashley both notched distance PRs on the trail. Faith, Lorie and Skibba had planned on running the full marathon, but all made the decision to drop down to the half after one loop. The temps were already 70+ at the very early 5:30 start. All three have longer races on the horizon. Live to fight another day.
Fiona would end up being our team’s sole Full Marathon finisher. She ran a speedy first loop, then persevered and powered through the heat of the 2nd loop. She finished 3rd overall female in 6:07:12.
