Knob Hills was a last minute decision that made 2 days before the race. Jay and I were supposedly still in recovery mode as we had raced the Ouachita Switchbacks 50K the week before, but what the hell. Jill needed trail miles as well and some of the closer trails were closed. I had been to Knob Hills on a couple occasions before, but hadn't been back in a few years. I need to get out here more often! I'm glad I made the decision to run because it turned out to be a fast, but occasionally challenging course. It was really fun to open up the leg speed and race hard. Kudos to the Denton Area Running Club for putting together a well run and well supported race.
I went out a little too hard and paid the price at the end (again). Remind me not to chase fast women in their 20s. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with my effort and was happy with my 3rd Place Masters finish. Jill also finished on the podium with 2nd Place Masters. I'll definitely have this race on the calendar next year.
